Your favorite photos are probably your favorites because they bring back memories of a wonderful experience. By creating a space where my clients can be themselves and enjoy the experience of being photographed, whether it’s a corporate headshot or an online dating portrait, we can rest assured that the results of our session will be compelling images that convey personality, approachability, authenticity, and connection, and portraits that you’ll love. It’s my guarantee.

Pre-Session

Our relationship will start with your inquiry—maybe by phone, probably by email—a detailed package and price menu. We’ll schedule a pre-consultation, preferably in person, perhaps via video, or maybe by phone—a face-to-face meeting (even by video) enables us to develop a rapport and trust that will help us both feel more relaxed come shoot time. During our pre-consult, we’ll discuss your goals and visions for your portraits, wardrobe, hair and makeup, what session package and add-ons would best suit your needs, prices and other details and questions you might have. When you’re ready, we’ll set a date and time for your session. We may decide to start a shared Pinterest board to gather inspiration for wardrobe, poses, and overall look and feel that you connect with—this can help ensure a very focused and targeted session.

The Session

Depending on which session type you select, you’ll come to my studio in Rockville, or I’ll come to your location, or we’ll meet at some other designated place. You’ll have one or several outfit changes and accessories, tools and supplies to touch up your hair and makeup, along with a great attitude and a willingness to be vulnerable. I’ll have likely more gear than I need, our Pinterest inspiration, a hip-pocket full of ideas for getting you beautifully posed and relaxed, along with a few stupid jokes and a willingness to be vulnerable. Then we’ll let ‘er rip! I’ll show you the back of the camera now and then, or I may be tethered to my iPad, to ensure we’re on the right track and bolster your confidence that you’re doing great.

Post-Session

If you’ve had a short portrait session, you may opt to hang out while I download the photos and you can make your selections right then. Alternately, I may post a gallery online for a limited time, and you can choose that way. If you’ve had a longer session resulting in more images, you’ll return to me for image presentation, selection, and ordering. I may request a model release, if I think I might use any of your images for self-promotion, and I’ll provide you with a print release, spelling out the rights I’m giving you for use and reproduction of your images. Generally within 5 business days, I will have your retouched images either delivered to you via Dropbox for digital file purchases, or sent to the printer for printed product purchases. Print products will be delivered to me usually within six business days, and we can arrange a pick-up, drop-off, or other hand-off. An invoice will come to you via email, and payment can be made by check or online by credit card before final files are released.

My Guarantee

Satisfaction is guaranteed—if you’re not delighted with your experience and resulting portraits, Ill do whatever’s necessary to make it right, whether that be a refund or a reshoot.

Phew… that was a lot of words! But I hope it takes some of the mystery out of the process so you can relax… you’ve totally got this.
